What is the TCPA?

The Telecommunications Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) is the primary federal law governing telephone solicitations. It was created to stop unwanted telemarketing phone calls to consumers and has expanded to include all manner of telephone, fax, and text message communications.

The TCPA requires that without explicit consumer consent, companies must adhere to strict rules when soliciting to subscribers. Non-compliance can result in a fine of up to $1500 per subscriber.

Compliance with the TCPA is essential for any business communicating with their customers via SMS marketing. It is your responsibility to ensure that all relevant TCPA regulations are being followed while using Tone.
