How do you attribute sales?

Sales are attributed by a 1 day view and 7 day click timeframe!  This means if a customer receives a message and places an order within 1 day of receipt, that order will be attributed to Tone.  Likewise, if the message they received contains a link and an order is placed via clicking that link within 7 days of receipt, that order will be attributed to Tone.

Here is a further breakdown of attribution by specific product:

Checkout Recovery

Checkout recovery attribution is broken down into the 4 following types:

  1. Replied- This is when our team has engaged in conversation with the customer and an order was placed within 1 day of the last message that was received.
  2. Viewed- This is when the customer has received a checkout recovery message from the Tone team and an order was placed within 1 day of receiving the message.
  3. Used Code- This is when the customer completes their purchase using the discount code that was provided to them by the Tone team.
  4. Clicked Link- This is when the customer completes their purchase by clicking the link provided to them in the checkout recovery message or conversation within 7 days of receiving the message.

LiveText

LiveText attribution occurs when an order is placed within 1 day of a customer chatting with the Tone team.

Campaign

Campaign attribution is based on a 1 day view and a 7 day click (if a link is present) window from when the message was sent to your subscribers. Our process cross references Shopify order data with numbers that we have texted and automatically tags and attributes these orders.  In order to minimize overlap with email attribution, we also cross reference referring sites that include most mail servers so these orders are not tagged.

Campaign attribution is broken down into the 3 following types:

  1. Viewed- This is when the customer has received a campaign message and an order was placed within 1 day of receiving the message.
  2. Replied- This is when the customer has replied to the campaign message they received and an order was placed within 1 day of the last message of the conversation.
  3. Clicked Link- This is when the customer completes their purchase by clicking the link provided to them in the campaign message or conversation within 7 days of the last message received.

Flow

Flow attribution is based on a 1 day view and 7 day click window from the time the first message is sent to the customer and the last message is received by the Tone team.

Optin

Optin attribution is broken down into the 2 following types:

  1. Replied- This is when the customer has replied to the message they received and an order was placed within 1 day of the last message of the conversation.
  2. Used Code- This is when the customer completes their purchase using the discount code that was provided to them by the Tone team.
 
To view attributed orders (and their order type) on your Tone dashboard select the Orders tab.

To filter by Order Type, select the drop-down menu and choose the product you would like to review.
